• About the Position:

  Coordinate transportation brokerage functions. Responsible for meeting brokerage business and growth objectives, RFP’s and Customer/Kenco relations.

• Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes and solicits new business from new and existing transportation customers.
  • Coordinates brokerage movements from pickup to delivery.
  • Screens carriers for proper authority, insurance, safety and service requirements.
  • Screens customers for credit requirements and assists with A/R collection.
  • Negotiates pricing between carriers and customers.
  • Assists with carrier contract maintenance.
  • Develops rate structures and RFP’s for transportation clients.
  • Communicates operational issues to management and make recommendations when necessary.
  • Prepares monthly reports for management as required.
  • Provides assistance to coworkers as needed to satisfy brokerage opportunities.
  • Maintains contact with customers and carriers.
  • Manages new business growth objectives.
  • Establishes and maintains proper operating margins for brokerage operation.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Brokerage Manager.

• Qualifications:

  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the skill set required:

  • Transportation Management background.
  • Experience with all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing business environment.
  • Strong communications skills both internal and external.

• Education/Relevant Experience:
  • Bachelors in Logistics/Business or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years experience with brokerage operations and customer service.

• Additional Skills:
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written) at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong presentation skills. 
  • Ability to follow SOP’s and other technical documentation.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
